Depending on the time of birth, each person can be assigned one of the five elements. To find out one's own element, you first need to know the numerical values of the elements.

Wood 1 2
Fire 3 4
Earth 5 6
Metal 7 8
Water 9 0

To calculate your number, use the following procedure, which varies for men and women.

Men: Subtract the last two digits of your birth year from the number 100. Divide the result by 9. The result is often a fraction, and only the first digit after the decimal point is significant. If the result is a whole number, then the number after the decimal point is 0.
Example: 100 - 86 = 14; 14 ÷ 9 = 1.5 --> His number is 5, Element Earth.

Women: Subtract the number 4 from the last two digits of your birth year. Divide the result by 9. Again, only the first digit after the decimal point is significant. If the result is a whole number, then the number after the decimal point is 0.
Example: 79 - 4 = 75; 75 ÷ 9 = 8.3 --> Her number is 3, Element Fire.

Here is a general guide for interpreting the different birth elements regarding personal character, considering the Yin-Yang nature of individuals, listing both the positive and negative traits.

Wood: Kind-hearted, empathetic, helpful, honest, open, with a loving heart / but also self-absorbed, resentful, envious, oversensitive.

Fire: Polite, generous, honest, forward-thinking, but also capricious, full of doubts and self-criticism, uncontrolled, lacking perseverance, pedantic, harsh.

Earth: Loyal, honest, compassionate, serious, religious, patient, straightforward, trustworthy, conservative, selfless / but also slow, inflexible, comfort-seeking, profit-oriented, arrogant, hard to convince.

Metal: Just, courageous, tolerant, correct, decisive / but also insensitive, unhappy, arrogant, unwilling to take another standpoint, stubborn.

Water: Intelligent, quick-thinking, imaginative, controlled / but also inattentive, vain, chaotic, and cowardly.

Each element is its own wonderful universe. This is just a rough categorization of the elements, and it's also true that we generally carry all elements within us - some are more pronounced than others, and in some, we have imbalances. This numeric mysticism is an interesting and fun part of the whole, highlighting one aspect but not depicting the entire picture of a person.

Further, one can examine how the elements interact interpersonally - which combinations are harmonious and which present specific challenges.

Example: Fire-Earth Combination: Gentleness, courage, cleverness, curiosity, optimism, but also laziness, lack of modesty, mood swings, indecision.

Listing all combinations here would unfortunately exceed the scope. We can include your personal combination in coaching sessions and discuss it there.
