In my Shiatsu practice, I work deeply with the fascia – the fascinating connective tissue that runs through your entire body. Many aches and restrictions aren’t caused by the muscles themselves, but by stuck or hardened fascia, often due to stress, inactivity or stored emotional tension. But what exactly is fascia? And why is it so essential for our well-being?
Fascia is a fine, web-like connective tissue that forms a three-dimensional network throughout the body. It surrounds and connects muscles, organs, nerves and even individual cells. Far from being just "packing material," fascia is a sensitive, intelligent tissue that plays a vital role in how we move and feel.
When fascia becomes stiff or "glued together," it loses its elasticity. This can lead to pain, tension, reduced mobility, and even emotional stagnation.
In Shiatsu, I use gentle, mindful pressure and specific techniques to work directly with the fascia. The effects can be profound:
Clients often say they feel "lighter," "more open," or even "emotionally cleared" after a session. This shows just how connected the body and emotions truly are.
Fascia is the network that connects everything within us – it holds, feels, remembers. When it releases, both physical and emotional space is created.
If you feel stuck – physically or emotionally – Shiatsu may offer the space and support you need. I’d love to support you on your way back to more flow, ease and balance.
